POV DISCUSSION: Unemployed Romance Episode 10 (Final)

That happy look on Wan Ha’s face. Can I punch someone? Hah. After the show ended, I felt like flipping tables and punching anyone who appears before me. Did they have to put him through this situation?

I know that Seung Hee is going to choose Jong Dae, we all know, but do you really have to make Seung Hee ditch Wan Ha at the wedding? Or was it an outfit trying? It’s most probably the wedding itself, right? I mean since they created the wedding invitation already, it doesn’t make sense to try outfits now. Whatever it is, she ditched Wan Ha at his happiest and made him went through so much hardship when she could have just ended it earlier.

She was constantly thinking of moving out when she have money. Seung Hee argues that at least she doesn’t play a joke on someone.

Seon Joo apologises for that and says that it wasn’t on purpose, and she was just envious. It just so happened that she couldn’t tell Jong Dae. She rants that Seung Hee should have known better that Seon Joo had liked Jong Dae first. Seung Hee says that she don’t know why Seon Joo should be envious since she’s successful. Seon Joo starts bawling that despite that, there is no one to share her joy.

Mom and Dad is at the hospital. The same doctor says that it’s not a malignant tumor and just a benign one and it’s a rare case. Mom and Dad are happy before Mom starts nagging again. Hah. They inform Jong Dae.

Jong Dae says there is an reward for those that find early employment, but Seung Hee says it’s okay. Seung Hee tells him to hang up if there is nothing else. Jong Dae asks what kind of job she took, and if it’s a proper job. Seung Hee tells him that they should focus on their own lives.

Yeon Woo tells Jong Dae to go and study aboard with her. Her dad has approved for them to go together. Jong Dae asks Yeon Woo why she likes him. She says that if she knew the reason, she wouldn’t like him. It’s because she doesn’t know the reason, that’s why she likes him.

Gwang Pal, Hyo Sang and Seon Joo are walking around sort of a flower garden – or something. Hyo Sang is annoyed Gwang Pal calls him out when there is no Jin Joo. He says that he looks better with Hyo Sang around. Lol. Gwang Pal says that he will help Hyo Sang and Jin Joo get together. The four of them are inside a KTV room, with booze and they play a game. Jin Joo kept losing, and they kept giving her drinks. Everyone is dead drunk. Seon Joo leaves after a while, and Jin Joo goes over to Gwang Pal. Both of them ended up leaving, and Hyo Sang is left alone in the room.

Hyo Sang blurts out that it’s Wan Ha’s wedding and Jong Dae realises that they’re getting married after all. Hyo Sang says it’s okay and that they can still divorce in future. Gwang Pal scolds Hyo Sang for saying such a ridiculous comment.

The doorbell rings, and it’s Jin Joo. She says that she’s pregnant and tells Gwang Pal to take responsibility. Hyo Sang ended up chasing Gwang Pal all over. With all that chaos, Jong Dae stands by the balcony and recalls all those times with Seung Hee. Seung Hee vice versa is sitting on a bench alone with a wedding invitation and thinking of Jong Dae.

Jong Dae walks in the airport with Yeon Woo and he receives the wedding invitation from Seung Hee as Wan Ha didn’t send him one. She tells him that if he comes, to not be awkward and at least say hi. He stops and looks at Yeon Woo. Jong Dae apologises to Yeon Woo and tells her he can’t leave. He runs off and calls Seung Hee, leaving Yeon Woo lost and upset. vlcsnap-2013-12-08-11h02m57s162vlcsnap-2013-12-08-11h03m13s62Seung is in her wedding dress, and she receives the call. Seung Hee slowly turns to look at him, and he realizes (AND US) knows what’s happening. vlcsnap-2013-12-08-11h04m15s175And it’s story completed. Seung Hee had written about their story and it’s now a success. She’s working with the old producer with Jong Dae punched in the past. They tells her to go celebrate with them, but she says she has to meet her husband at the airport.

vlcsnap-2013-12-08-11h04m27s33vlcsnap-2013-12-08-11h04m49s1And of course it’s Jong Dae.

You know what? The drama should have at least made Jong Dae an equal of Wan Ha. For example, in R1994, Chilbong and Trash are equal in sort of a way. They both are awesome. But here, Jong Dae falls far behind from Wan Ha!

Wan Ha has been honest and steadfast with his love for Seung Hee, but Jong Dae is just contemplating. I guess it suits Seung Hee, because she does the same. I’m so frustrated with her character. When she gave back the ring to Wan Ha, he asked her if she intended to go back to Jong Dae, and she said no. WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?! Clearly, she still loved Jong Dae and she knows, but why the heck did she accept Wan Ha’s heart? She should have stopped it there and then for the least amount of consideration for Wan Ha.

She goes on, and goes with the flow and even to the point of marriage. Hello girl? You can just choose to break up, but still don’t go to Jong Dae, you know? You don’t have to choose a guy. You can learn to live alone, stand on your own again or whatever.

The after credits showed that Yeon Woo and Wan Ha are meeting and Yeon Woo is interested in him. Lol. He also gets a text from Seon Joo. And we also see that Gwang Pal is married to Jin Joo, and Jin Joo is confused with Hyo Sang and he tells her to divorce Gwang Pal. Wow. A bunch of weird people.

I don’t care what happens in the after credits, even if they’re trying to say Wan Ha is doing well. I can’t help but to say I’m so disappointed that they made Wan Ha miserable right till the very end, to be ditched on the wedding. That happy face of his…haizzzzz 😦 😦 😦

  1. I agree with you …. a lot.. ^^ honestly. this episode irritate me the most. What the point of this ?? This episode make me hate Seung Hee. She just toying with Wan Ha’s sincere heart since beginning. And then bamm..ditch him at wedding. What ???? Why you didn’t do that earlier… why at wedding …adfasdfkwejrwlekrw…that’s it….

  2. I hated the ending!!!! That has got to be the dumbest ending ever in kdrama history! What a waste of talented actors. I cant believe i wasted 10 weeks watching this drama!? Ugh. So mad at the effen writers. I hate Sueng Hee and Jong Dae. Both were selfish and inconsiderate of others feelings. Seung Hee especially. Poor Wan Ha. I cant believe she did that to him. If she was having doubts she could have not gone through with the wedding. Instead she waited till the last possible minute? Who does that? Im glad that Wan ha got a few punches in on Jong Dae. That was probably the best part. *sigh* Dumb drama. Complete waste of my time!

Wan Ha…. you’re the best thing about this drama!!! Thank you for being awesome!

  3. I think the scenario we see is just happened in Sueng Hee’s drama. When Sueng Hee know her heart towards Jong Dae, she end up with Wan Ha. That’s why she is alone when she writing the script in the coffee shop.

  4. See, I didn’t have any issues with this. Why does she have to love the more successful person? Love doesn’t work that way. I am also so very tired of the whole “I liked you first so I should have dibs on you” trope that is so over-used in these dramas. Who liked who first means nothing when the object of your affection doesn’t feel the same. Hearts just do not work that way. I was so irritated by his friends telling him to date the young girl simply because she liked him and was pretty. Same goes for Her sister saying she should date the lawyer simply because he has money. Never mind who they really love. How disgustingly superficial is that? My only real gripe is that she allowed things to go so far as the wedding before she pulled her head out of her ass. I cannot say this was a favorite drama of mine or that I loved it. It was pretty much a run-of-the mill romance loaded with the standard tropes, but I certainly didn’t hate it for the reasons others seemed to. And I genuinely rooted for Jong Dae the whole time since something about WAN Ha just rubbed me the wrong way entirely. He was so pushy and self-centered…he didn’t seem to genuinely care about Seung Hee’s feelings in more than a superficial way. To me he acted like a spoiled little boy who was determined to get his prize simply because he felt he had wanted it longer. Gross.
