I was looking for an anime to watch and came across Ao Haru Ride which had a lot of positive reviews and I’m glad I did. I got hooked pretty quickly and finished the 12 episodes within a day.
As the anime only covers up to volume 4 of the manga (there are total 13 volumes), I decided to read up the manga as well and also check out the live adaption film.
I have different reviews for the anime, manga and the movie. My personal favorite is the anime. If I were to judge the anime solely on its own, I would say it is one of the best anime I’ve watched thus far. However, I wouldn’t say the same thing for the movie and I have mixed feelings about the manga.

I watched the movie out of curiosity. The casts looks great so I was tempted to give it a try though I didn’t have much idea on what the film was about. And that was one of the best decision I’ve made. It was a great movie and I loved it!
Basically it’s about Chihaya, a high school girl who is crazy about Karuta, a Japanese card game. She wants to start a karuta team in school, so that one day, she could reunite with her childhood friends, Arata and Taichi. Taichi ends up in the same high school as her, and she asks him to join her.
The movie has two parts – part one focuses on Chihaya starting a karuta club in school and recruiting 4 other members before joining a competition. Part 2 of the movie is Chihaya & Taichi’s “quest” to find the reason why Arata stopped playing karuta, and more matches.

An anime review! Though I do enjoy watching anime from time to time, I don’t really write up reviews on them.
Maybe I should?
Anyway, I was feeling a little blue because I feel that the dramas airing right now are not really pulling me in so much, so I wanted to watch something else for a change but didn’t have any idea what are the good anime or Japanese dramas recently so I decided to ask for recommendations and someone recommended me to Charlotte.
It was a great choice because I absolutely loved it.

I never really did an Anime Review before, so I just thought of trying one, because this anime is awesome 🙂 I’m currently watching Nagi no Asukara, an anime about childhood friends who were brought up in the sea, and attends school on land when their school closes down.
Basically, if you’re thinking why are they brought up in the sea – it’s because in the anime, a long time back humans live in the sea. However, most of them left for the land, thus right now they are separated between land and sea. All of that doesn’t really matter, because this anime is all about friendships, love, and growing up.
It’s amazing how the anime portrays how different people try to get along, and at the same time, I just love the friendships between the characters and their one-sided love. A part of me wished that dramas could follow the soul or heart or whatever it is in this anime which makes it so heart-warming and lovable. It’s like any high-school drama, but I swear this is really good 🙂
