POV DISCUSSION: Golden Rainbow Episode 11 & 12

It’s time to bid the kids goodbye and welcome the adult casts. Yay! *throws confetti* Episode 11 was a smooth episode, and it basically wrap things up and concludes the kids portion. When I say smooth, I don’t mean good things happen to the characters, but rather the episode was like sort of a closure for the kids role.

So the kids ran away, and unfortunately Young Won was left behind at the train station and that was heart-breaking. Episode 12 introduced to us the adult characters, and unlike when they were kids, things are no longer that simple within the family. Baek Won is not on good terms with Man Won and blames him for abandoning Young Won. Man Won and Baek Won works hard to support the family.

Seo Do Young is a prosecutor, but for some reason, he does not take his job seriously. I thought he would be pro-active and going against his father, but I guess not yet. Anyway, it’s nice to see the adult casts and let’s welcome Jung Il Woo & UEE ūüôā Now that the kids are adults, we can sit back and wait for the romance to bloom, because when you’re a kid, there’s plenty of things you can’t do ūüėõ

POV DISCUSSION: Golden Rainbow Episode 9 & 10

Since we had all the cute in the earlier episodes, its time for the heartbreaks ūüė¶ and there’s many more coming our way ūüė¶ Dad gets all the blame, and even though Baek Won tries her best to prove that Dad didn’t do it on his own, the truth backfires after both Young Hye and Chun Won lies in court.

Il Won dies from lung failure, and Dad is sentenced to 15 years in Jail. Baek Won is facing too many things at one go, and like that’s not enough, she finally finds out that she and Man Won are not blood-related.

POV DISCUSSION: Golden Rainbow Episode 1-8 (Summary w/pics)

Golden Rainbow is MBC weekend drama which has aired about 10 episodes. I was excited for this because the main leads is UEE & Jung Il Woo ūüôā

I thought of doing a First Impression post after watching the first two episodes, but decided to do a review only after I watch more episodes because Golden Rainbow has a long childhood portion. I tend to dislike dramas with Childhood portions because 99% of the time it involves a super dramatic makjang storyline like birth secrets or hidden murders or whatever else which is dramatic.

Of course, GR is no exception. Episode 1 of GR involves kidnapping and a dramatic feud between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law, and it’s also the start of a very messy conflict. I’m not a huge fan of dramatic storylines, but GR won me over because of the adorable kids. The kids are the heart of the drama, and it’s what makes the drama heart-warming and worth watching.

Birdie Buddy Ep 14 Main Highlights

I’m too lazy to do a detailed recap for Ep 14, so I would just summarize the main point of the episode.

So basically, Ep 13 ended at Sung Mi Soo doing her last shot. She won and got a car as a prize. Min Hye Ryung fights with her mother yet again and Min Hye Ryung leaves the countryside.

Jay Park still wants Hye Ryung as a player and looks for an infamous golf scammer, who someone the female reporter calls uncle.

Sung Mi Soo, John Lee goes to a restaurant and bumps into Hye Ryung and her father. John Lee follows Hye Ryung up to her room while Mi Soo waits at the restaurant.

Min Hye Ryung asks John Lee to go back to the states. They fight and John Lee stands outside her door, thinking.

Min Hye Ryung decides to join Jay Park and asks her father to be her personal caddy. Her mother finds out when the newspapers published the news and is pissed off.

Mi Soo’s father slowly gets his memory back.

This episode was a low-key episode. The main¬†highlight¬†was actually Min Hye Ryung deciding to join hands with Jay Park to get revenge on her mother. It’s exatcly what Jay Park wants because everyone knows he’s eyeing the resort.

There’s something strange though. There is a certain relationship with these three people, Jay Park, Fabian and Sung Mi Soo. I don’t know but somehow Fabian has a certain attachment to Mi Soo and though I thought they might just be father and daughter, it seems impossible as well since he’s not korean. I don’t know what it might be, but there is sure some sort of connection.

Last highlight was that Mi Soo’s father is slowly getting his memory back.

Let’s sidetrack a bit. I’m not sure if you guys have the same idea, but I think John Lee¬†sincerely¬†likes Hye Ryung. From what I see, he really treats Mi Soo well because she’s a great player not because he has feelings for her. However, we don’t know if he’ll start falling for her. I don’t think he will though?

Birdie Buddy EP 13 Recap/ Summary

Sung Mi Soo gets the green light to leave the mountain with John Lee. She returns home and everyone is happy to see her and gathers around for dinner. John Lee was given a challenge to eat raw garlic, competing with Mi Soo’s father. He loses as he is not use to eating raw garlic.

Fabian (Mi Soo’s Teacher) is thinking about Sung Mi Soo alone up at the mountains. Someone lurks around the mountain and turns out to be Jay Park’s man.

Sung Mi Soo goes to get new clubs and fitting with John Lee as¬†she’d¬†broken most of her clubs at the mountain. John Lee thinks of Min Hae Ryung.

There‚Äôs a long drive competition at the resort and the winner will get a car. Song Mi Soo is interested as her family had sold their car. Min Hae Ryung returns and Jay Park’s man greets her at the airport. While drinking tea, Jay Park tells Min Hye Ryung he wants her to be his player instead of her mother‚Äôs. She rejects and mentions that she quit golf. Jay Park is aware that Woo Joon Mo is still in Korea. Woo Joon Mo and the secretary is keeping contact and updates themselves on Min Hye Ryung (MHR).

Jay park goes to visit Woo Joon Mo (WJM). He informs him that MHR is going to quit golf. WJM couldn’t believe him. MHR mother is looking for her. MHR goes to a countryside.

Song Mi Soo goes to practice and John Lee brings her to make new golf balls specially for her.

WJM goes to visit MHR. MHR is pissed and tells him that she quit golf and not to come looking for her.

Mi Soo practices in her room with her new golf balls while John Lee is thinking of MHR at home alone. He tries calling MHR but her phone is switched off.

MHR’s mother finds out where she’s staying and goes looking for her.

Long Distance Golf competiton started.

No one really knew who Sung Mi Soo was, but as she hits the golf ball, everyone is surprised by how far it went. Finally she’s and 2nd place and 10 meters difference from the 1st position. She hits the last shot and the golf ball went far.

The End.

Ojakgyo Brothers Ep 15 Preview/Spoiler

Hello!!! How many of you have been waiting for this? I’ve been waiting since last week for some spoilers~~~ HAHAHA!!! Found a picture on the Ojakgyo Brothers Facebook page yesterday and KBS uploaded a teaser earlier as well!!!

Ojakgyo Brothers Drama Fans… here goes:

Video Preview for Ep 15:

YAY!!!! I’m excited like a little kid for Joo Won & UEE scenes!!! It’s also getting more interesting between Soo Young & Tae Bum because SY is from a rich family while Tae Bum can be considered ordinary. HAHAHA~~~

Ojakgyo Brothers (Thoughts & Impression)

(Ojakgyo Brothers, Sat-Sun)

So earlier, I did a quick rough summary on the past 14 episodes of weekend drama, Ojakgyo Brothers, starring UEE and Joo Won.

This post is just to rant my views, thoughts and impression on the drama itself.

So far, I find the drama very nice to watch. It’s interesting and I think it’s pretty good as a family-themed weekend drama.

I find most of the characters very likable and all interesting in their own way.

UEE has improved a lot in her acting and I think she totally won me over in this drama. Joo Won is also very charming in this drama. He didn’t really attarcted me in Baker King Kim Tak Goo. (note: I didn’t even realised he was the one in BK Kim Tak Goo until I saw his name on the cast list).

I like the character Baek Ja Eun, someone who is pampered since birth and spoilt, but also hides her true feelings at times. She isn’t¬†exactly¬†the spoilt brat who refuse to listen. She’s quite responsible actually.

The character Joo Won is also interesting. He doesn’t really mix around with people that much, and seems pretty much a nice guy to his parents and grandmother. He has a kind heart, but sometimes very harsh with his words and actions.

Overall, the characters are all very nice to watch, even the supporting characters. (I can totally talk about all of the characters all day, but i shall not to keep the post as short as possible. HAHA.)

Overall, I love this weekend drama and I barely can wait for each episode to air. Just like other fans who watch this drama, I really want more Joo Won & UEE scenes. Their scenes are really very limited and I guess it’s one of the ways to keep on people interested in watching. HAHAHA~~~

Ojakgyo Brothers EP 1-14 Summary

I’ve been watching weekend drama, Ojakgyo Brothers, starring UEE & Joo Won since episode 1 and I just thought of sharing my love for it.

This is not a proper recap and just a rough summary because I’m too lazy to do a detailed recap for 14 episodes. I might do a proper one for the coming episodes.

So basically, in the drama Baek Ja Eun (UEE) is a rich student who become poor overnight when her father went missing in China trying to seal a business deal. She was caught in a controversy of  bribing to enter university together with her father Baek In Ho, which Hwang Tae Hee (Joo Won) was trying to solve.

Baek In Ho owned a farm which his father has entrusted to Hwang Chang Shik 10 years ago. Baek Ja Eun goes to the farm to demand that they return the farm to her, but when Park Bo Ja (Hwang Chang Shik’s wife) hides away her title deed contract, Ja Eun was chased out of the farm.

Nowhere to go, she decides to listen to Tae Hee’s advice and stay close to Park Bo Ja, hoping to change her mind and heart to return the farm to her. She moves to the farm and lives in a tent right outside their house.

Hwang Tae Bum is a reporter and he is constantly fighting with his team leader, Cha Soo Young. Cha Soo Young has a one-sided crush on Tae Bum but no one is aware of this fact, besides her mother. During a team gathering, both got drunk and accidently slept together.

As a result, Cha Soo Young gets pregnant. She wants to keep the baby as a doctor has told her that pregnancy will be difficult for her. She tries to convince Tae Bum to marry her but he refuses. Both families caught hold of this fact.  Cha Soo Young decides to convince him one more time to marry her. Hwang Tae Bum finally relents and tells her to get married.

Other Information:

Hwang Tae Shik is the oldest son and he has yet to get married. He has an ex-girlfriend who is a¬†Philippine, and is currently dating a patient’s female¬†acquaintance. ¬†Kim Mi Sook is his elementary school friend, who happens to be his neighbour and has a crush on him. Oh Ha Na is a daughter she take cares of.

Hwang Tae Phil is the youngest of the family and is always¬†supporting¬†the mother. He doesn’t like Tae Hee as Tae Hee is not their biological brother, but cousin. He is hot-tempered and is always fighting with Tae Hee.

Hwang Tae Hee is brought up as the third son of the Hwang family, but in actual fact, he is actually the son of Hwang Chang Shik’s brother who has passed away. His mother remarried and left the family. Thus, he was brought up as Hwang Chang Shik’s son.

The actual person who entered university due to bribery is not Baek Ja Eun, but Lee Seung Ri, Ja Eun’s rival in school and the person who has a crush on Tae Hee. She is also the daughter of Tae Hee’s superior.
